GHI Vision Statement

We will provide affordable, well maintained homes in an attractive cooperative community.  We will create a customer-focused culture in which members and employees are treated with the same level of respect, courtesy and attention that we would personally expect.

GHI Mission Statement

Greenbelt Homes, Inc. is a cooperative that provides quality homes for our members and fosters opportunities for community. We will accomplish this by celebrating and respecting the historical legacy and ideals of the original Greenbelt plan.

We will maintain, protect and enhance the assets of our cooperative including the buildings, architectural design, open space plan (woods, walkways, playgrounds), while preserving the financial stability and sustainability of our cooperative community.

We will promote member diversity, member and community involvement, and education regarding our rights and responsibilities as co-op members.

We are the keepers of our property, and we have the right to expect that all of us will act responsibly to protect and care for that which each own and treasure together.

Board of Directors

A nine-member Board of Directors is the decision and policymaking body of the Corporation. To carry out this function, the Board meets twice a month on Thursday evenings, except during the summertime when meetings are held monthly. The notice of meeting and agenda is posted on bulletin boards located on the outside of the administration building and at the co-op grocery store. Members are also informed of meetings through the Greenbelt News Review, the local newspaper. Members are welcome and encouraged to attend Board meetings.

GHI Offices & Services

GHI Offices provide many services to its members. Administrative control of the Corporation's business, including its subsidiaries, is exercised through a General Manager. To successfully carry out the various tasks and services associated with a large housing organization, the administrative functions are divided into several departments. The staff is always willing to assist member-owners within the operating policies of the Corporation.
