Woodlands Workday in Parcel I

Saturday, March 15, 2023 10:00am. Meet by the playground next to McDonald Field, 7 Court Southway Road.

Please join us in controlling invasive English Ivy and wisteria. We'll be cutting out sections from vines that are climbing trees. This will help protect the trees, control the spread of invasive species, and enhance habitat for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

For this GHI Woodlands Committee workday we will be working in GHI Parcel I (eye), which is located between McDonald Field, BW Parkway, and 7-9-11 Courts Southway. Tools and gloves provided, along with guidance on identifying and controlling invasive vines, while also recognizing and protecting native vines, such as wild grape. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for outdoor work, including areas with multiflora rose and greenbriar. For further information contact bryanbruns@yahoo.com
